Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve had experience of employing consultants before – what makes Excalibur different?
Some organisations use traditional consultant methodologies to review, evaluate and then produce reports which often simply re-iterate what the client already knows. At Excalibur we do things differently, recognising that each client is unique with different needs, issues and problems. We therefore focus on not only understanding the needs at all levels of the client’s organisation but also provide practical and achievable solutions which can be easily implemented, often implementing them on our client’s behalf.
Is Excalibur registered on the OGCbuying.solution catalyst agreement?
Not currently, but we are in the process of reviewing such arrangements.
Does Excalibur provide the additional service capabilities itself?
We provide the majority of services from an in-house team however where specific technical skills are needed we partner with a number of industry specialists to deliver these services. Each partner is a successful business in its own right with a separate client base and we’ll be pleased to give you details of our partners separately.
Can’t I just commission Excalibur to deliver one service aspect – say e-tendering?
Yes you can commission services separately or we will be pleased to introduce your organisation to the relevant service partner for you to deal direct.
However, experience has shown that taking single elements of the service may lead to budget overspend as organisations sometimes underestimate the complexity of the requirement. This had led to some consultancy organisations being unfairly accused of manipulating processes to maintain fee revenues. Excalibur’s all inclusive services transfer the risk away from your organisation, effectively ring fencing the budget.
What do your services cost?
This will depend on individual requirements. The core Commercial support package is an, all inclusive fixed fee arrangement, so you are aware of your commitment and can budget accordingly. You’ll then pay for additional elements depending on which services you require outside the core service.
Additionally, if a number of clients jointly commission the service (say as part of a Consortium), each client will benefit from Excalibur’s ability to provide a shared service element to the agreement, further reducing costs.
When does my Organisation pay you and on what terms?
Once a contract has been signed you will be invoiced for the agreed monthly fee at the end of each calendar month. Our terms of payment are 30 days from the date of invoice.
Excalibur also accepts payment by purchasing card.
Do you have any client reference sites which I can speak with?
Yes we can provide references for work we have carried out in.
